FAQ: FAQ

What is an escape room?

Did you ever wish that you could go INSIDE of a video game? Think of an escape room as exactly that! Combine the adventure of a video game with the brain stimulation of a crossword puzzle. Add in a group of people and a countdown timer, and that is an ESCAPE ROOM!

Diversion Escape Rooms is a unique real life adventure using riddles, clues and hints to solve puzzles. Our games promote teamwork, as well as individual and small group success in order to complete a given objective in under 60 minutes. The themes dictate the environment and immerses each guest into the game and outcome.

What if we have never played an escape game?

Even better! We pride ourselves in sharing this memorable experience with first-time escapees. We go over the objectives, rules, and even some tips, so you are not walking into it completely blind. Don't worry, you will catch on very quickly and may even get hooked after your first visit! Be sure to click here for our "helpful hints" guide.

Will I actually be locked inside of a room?

No. Due to potential hazards and emergencies, it is frowned upon (and illegal) for us to lock you in a room with no way out! But we like to pretend that you are! And we would encourage you to pretend as well. The experience is far better when you use your imagination. The doors to our rooms remain unlocked, so you can step out if you need to.

Will I be in a room with people I don’t know?

Rooms are designed for more than one player. Most rooms are suitable for 4 to 8 players. Due to current climate regarding health and safety concerns, ALL games are currently being booked as "private games." If you have any last second additions to your group, we can accommodate them upon arrival, but you will NOT be placed in a room with people who are not part of your group.

Are the rooms suitable for children?

Most rooms are designed for ages 10 and up. Puzzles and games are designed to incorporate critical thinking, and development of problem-solving skills varies among ages. Children of any age are allowed and encouraged to participate, but it is advised to have an adult present for guidance. This will help them "think outside of the box" and exercise their brains to nurture those analytical skills! At least ONE adult is required to participate to ensure their safety as well as proper handling of our props. Also, be sure to read the room descriptions, as some themes may be inappropriate for younger children.

What individuals are best equipped for an Escape Room?

EVERYONE! Each individual, no matter their age, experience, or background brings a unique set of skills, perspective, and knowledge that may come in handy in a given game. Some puzzles seem straight-forward but having multiple perspectives can help provide alternative solutions that one person may not see right away. The more, the merrier!

How do we know what to do?

It's simple really. We will start by giving you a premise, a story of sorts. From that story, you are given a basic challenge. Escape the room before something happens, escape the room before someone returns or escape the room to avoid an unfortunate circumstance. Or something of the like. You will have enough information to get started. Always start the same way...look around the room. Try to find things that could be a clue of some sort or have a hidden meaning. We have tons of faith in you!

Are the rooms scary?

No. Our rooms are not scary but some themes may be a little stranger than others. At no point would you be placed in real danger. However, please make sure that you read the description of the room you intend to book, as some themes may be inappropriate for younger guests.

What time should we arrive?

Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to your booking time. We will get you checked in, give you a couple of basic guidelines to follow regarding our facility and get you ready to play! Please understand that players arriving 10 minutes or more past their scheduled appointment time will forfeit time on the playing clock. We have a rigorous schedule and want to be available on time for everyone to enjoy game play.

Do you offer refunds if I cancel my game?

Standard policy dictates that we do not offer refunds for any reason. However, we would be willing to reschedule your game if absolutely necessary. Please note, games cancelled less than 3 hours before the scheduled appointment time and no shows will not be rescheduled or refunded and may be subject to additional fees.

Can I add someone to my group AFTER the reservation is made?

Absolutely! We understand that it can be chaotic to get a group together. You might be unsure if someone is going to come, or you might have a friend that wants to join in at the last second.
We recommend making the reservation for the number of people that are DEFINITELY coming. You can then add people to your group and pay for entry upon arrival.
*Keep in mind that the maximum occupancy for the room you reserve will still apply.
